    Getting to campus

LMU describes the Westchester campus as approximately four miles north of LAX. Drivers leave the airport north on Sepulveda Blvd, stay in the left two lanes to merge onto Lincoln Blvd, and turn right at LMU Drive. Taxi, Uber and Lyft pickups happen at a dedicated lot beside Terminal 1, which you reach on foot or by the free shuttle that stops outside baggage claim on the first level. Uber Black and Lyft Lux Black tiers still pick up at the terminals (LAX rideshare and taxi pickup). Student Housing says its Lion Express ride program to LAX does not run during move in week, so students arriving then should plan on rideshare.

Several hotels on LMU's local hotels list sit on Century Blvd and Airport Blvd near the terminals.

Flying into LAX

LMU's admission office places the campus approximately four miles north of LAX. From the terminals, head north on Sepulveda Blvd, stay in either of the two left lanes, merge onto Lincoln Blvd, continue past Manchester Blvd, and turn right onto LMU Drive.

At LAX, taxis, Uber and Lyft do not pick up at the regular terminal curb. Riders go to a dedicated pickup lot next to Terminal 1, either on foot along the signed sidewalk or on the free shuttle that stops outside baggage claim on the first level. Premium tiers such as Uber Black and Lyft Lux Black still meet riders at the terminal. Student Housing says its Lion Express ride program to LAX does not run during move in week, so plan your own ride for that trip.

Driving in from the freeways

LMU's directions page covers each approach. From the 405 heading north, exit at La Tijera Blvd, turn left, turn right on Manchester Blvd and right on Lincoln Blvd. From the 405 heading south or from the 10, exit at Jefferson Blvd, head west, and turn left on Lincoln Blvd. From the 105, exit at Sepulveda Blvd going north, stay in the left two lanes and merge onto Lincoln Blvd. Every route ends at the main entrance at Lincoln Blvd and LMU Drive.

Parking on campus

LMU charges for parking Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Weekends and university holidays are free, except during special events. Weekday visitor rates rise in 20 minute steps: $5 for up to 40 minutes, $8 up to an hour, $12 up to 80 minutes, $16 up to 100 minutes, and $20 beyond that.

Pay stations sit in Lot A (Hannon), Lot D (Life Sciences), Lot H (Del Rey), Lot I (Xavier), Lot L (Drollinger, non reserved spaces) and Lot U (the University Hall garage, levels P2 and P3). The machines do not give change. You can also pay by texting LMUPA to 25023, through the ParkMobile app with location code 961, or in advance through LMU Park. For a campus tour, admission says you can get a pass from the guard at the front gate. The parking office is in University Hall, suite 1766, at 310.338.1681 or parking@lmu.edu.

Where parents stay

LAX corridor. Embassy Suites LAX North on Airport Blvd and Sonesta LAX on Century Blvd sit near the terminals. Their LMU rates are listed at $169 to $189 and $145 to $165 a night, and both list parking for one vehicle as included or free.
