If your student is sick

LMU Student Health Services is on the first floor, north side of the Burns Recreation Center, at 310.338.2881. It is open Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and students book through the MyHealth Patient Portal. LMU's wellness pages also mention telehealth options.

After hours, Student Health sends students to an urgent care or a hospital emergency department. Its urgent care page lists clinics with distances from campus, including Exer Playa Vista Medical Center on Sea Bluff Drive (1.42 miles), Playa Marina Walk In Urgent Care on Admiralty Way (2.06 miles) and Cedars Sinai Urgent Care on W. Jefferson Blvd in Playa Vista (2.78 miles). The closest emergency department it lists is Marina del Rey Hospital at 4650 Lincoln Blvd, 1.90 miles away, with 24 hour emergency care. Students pay for off campus urgent care and hospital visits, so make sure your student carries an insurance card.

LMU's support page says Campus Safety will give a free ride to a hospital: dial 222 from a campus phone or 310.338.2893, extension 1.

Counseling

Student Psychological Services (SPS) is one floor up in the Burns Recreation Center at 310.338.2868. After hours, your student calls the same number and follows the prompt to reach an after hours therapist, and SPS follows up the next business day.

Pharmacies

LMU's local amenities page names a CVS at 8601 S. Sepulveda Blvd. There is a second CVS at 8900 Sepulveda Westway. Pharmacy counters at both close for lunch from 1:30 to 2 p.m.

Campus Safety

LMU Campus Safety Services works out of the Foley Annex. Call 310.338.2893, or 222 from any campus landline. For anything life threatening, Campus Safety asks you to dial 911 first and then call them when it is safe. Students keep their LMU Alert contact details current in PROWL under View / Update LMU Alert Contact Information, and Campus Safety uses the Rave Guardian app for reporting. Email is public.safety@lmu.edu.

Mail and packages

Address mail this way:

Student First and Last Name Loyola Marymount University 1 LMU Drive, MSB [your student's number] Los Angeles, CA 90045

Your student finds their MSB number in PROWL under Campus Mail Address. Packages go to the Distribution Center on parking level P2 of University Hall, which accepts USPS, UPS, FedEx and Amazon and emails your student when something is ready. Letters and magazines go to the Campus Mail Center on the ground floor of University Hall, near Einstein Bros. Bagels under the escalators. USPS packages can take up to two extra business days to reach campus.

Groceries and money

LMU's amenities page lists a Ralphs at 8701 Lincoln Blvd (open 5 a.m. to midnight, per Ralphs), a Target at 8900 S. Sepulveda Blvd, and Westfield Culver City for bigger shopping trips. On campus, the OneCard (Lion Wallet) holds meal swipes, Dining Dollars and Flexi Dollars. Flexi Dollars also work at some off campus merchants. You can put funds on the card online with your student's Campus ID number through the OneCard page. The pages we checked do not list on campus ATMs or bank branches.

Care packages

The Distribution Center has no freezer and cannot promise refrigeration, so send shelf stable treats rather than anything perishable, and tell your student a box is coming.
