    Address
Each dorm has its own street address. Housing's example: Wilbur Wildcat, Likins-101, 500 N Highland Ave., Tucson, AZ 85719

Packages without the student's name are returned to the sender, and including the room number helps desk staff tell the resident about a delivery. Front desks cannot accept deliveries from non certified carriers, including grocery and food delivery services, perishables like food or flowers, and anything that needs refrigeration, and cannot accept furniture or mini fridges. Each dorm's address is on Housing's Dorm Contact Information page. Questions: HSG-Deskops@arizona.edu.

If your student is sick

Campus Health Service is in the Highland Commons building at 1224 E. Lowell St., open Monday to Friday 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (Wednesdays from 9 a.m.). The main line is (520) 621-9202, and the nurse line is (520) 621-6493. Campus Health closes on university holidays but stays open on university closure days.

After hours, the number to save is (520) 570-7898. Campus Health says one of its medical staff is always on call.

If your student needs care when Campus Health is closed, its Emergency & After Hours page lists nearby urgent care, including NextCare Urgent Care at 501 N. Park Ave. #110, (520) 284-9200, and Northwest Urgent Care at 446 N. Campbell Ave. #130, (520) 989-8245. The first hospital on that list is Banner University Medical Center Tucson at 1625 N. Campbell Ave., (520) 694-0111.

Mental health support

Counseling & Psychological Services (CAPS) answers (520) 621-3334 around the clock, including for same day crisis help. CAPS says most of its services are no cost for main campus students. One CAPS location, CAPS North, is on the second floor of North Rec at 1051 E. Mabel St. If you are worried about your student but it is not an emergency, the Dean of Students Office at (520) 621-7057 helps students through crises and other setbacks.

Pharmacies

Campus Health stopped filling prescriptions in June 2024, so your student will use an off campus pharmacy. Two close options:

  • CVS Pharmacy, 825 E. University Blvd., Suite 101, in Main Gate Square, (520) 624-4519. CVS lists the store as open 24 hours, with pharmacy hours of 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekdays and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on weekends.
  • Safeway Pharmacy, 1940 E. Broadway Blvd., (520) 206-9052, open weekdays until 7 p.m. and weekends 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Campus police and getting home safely

The University of Arizona Police Department is at 1852 E. First St. The non emergency number is (520) 621-8273, which spells 621-UAPD. For emergencies, your student can call or text 911.

ASUA SafeRide gives free rides to students, Monday to Friday, 7 to 11 p.m., within Grant Road, Broadway Boulevard, Stone Avenue and Tucson Boulevard. Downtown and Fourth Avenue are outside the zone. Students book through the Tripshot app under "UA Saferide" with their NetID, and SafeRide's number is (520) 621-7233.

UAlert sends emergency texts and emails to students and employees. Families can sign up for Parent & Family Programs communications instead, and the university encourages families to download the SafeCats app for real time safety alerts.

Mail and packages

Each dorm has its own street address, listed on Housing's Dorm Contact Information page. Housing's example of the format:

Wilbur Wildcat
Likins-101
500 N Highland Ave.
Tucson, AZ 85719

Use your student's full name, dorm and room number, and the street address of their own building. Packages without the student's name go back to the sender. Front desks cannot accept deliveries from non certified carriers, which covers grocery and food delivery services, flowers, and anything that needs refrigeration, and they cannot take furniture or mini fridges. Questions go to HSG-Deskops@arizona.edu.

Groceries and everyday errands

On campus, Arizona Market on the main level of the Student Union Memorial Center carries fresh produce, groceries, snacks and grab and go meals, open 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. on weekdays and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on weekends. Highland Market is in the Highland District. Off campus, the university's English language center points students to Safeway at Campbell and Broadway and Fry's at Grant and 1st Avenue as the nearest large grocery stores. The Safeway is open 6 a.m. to midnight daily.

Banking

Safeway lists a U.S. Bank branch inside its Broadway store. For the CatCard student ID, the CatCard Office is on the lower level of the Student Union in Room 142, (520) 626-9162. Meal plan questions go to the Meal Plans office in Student Union Room 248, (520) 621-7043.

Care packages

Mail them through a regular carrier rather than a delivery service, and stick to shelf stable snacks, notes from home, and small comforts. Put the room number on the label so the front desk can tell your student it arrived. Last spring, Housing stopped accepting dorm mail on the last day of classes, so send end of year treats by late April.
