zotALERT is UCI's campus emergency notification system, and the police website links to sign up. Ask your student to confirm their cell number is current in it, and to text you if an alert goes out.

Mail and packages

  2. Middle Earth: (Resident name), Middle Earth Housing, (Bldg #) E. Peltason Dr. (Room #), Irvine, CA 92617
  3. Arroyo Vista: (Resident name), (House #) Arroyo Drive (Room #), Irvine, CA 92617. Housing's parent page shows a mailbox number version instead, so confirm the exact format with your student.

Groceries and banking

A nearby full grocery store is Albertsons at 4541 Campus Dr, open 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily. Housing's winter break guidance also points students to Trader Joe's and University Town Center nearby. For cash, UCI's International Center lists ATMs on campus for Bank of America, Chase, SchoolsFirst Federal Credit Union and Wells Fargo, and a Chase branch at 4249 Campus Drive.

Care packages that arrive well

The package rooms have refrigerators for perishable food but no freezers, so skip anything that needs to stay frozen. Use the exact community format above, including building and room numbers, and consider timing a box to land just before one of the three finals weeks.
